Elder Street -
The Junction Box

Situated near Barracks Arch and overlooking the Parliamentary Precinct, the Elder Street Junction Box is an occupied sculpture which seamlessly combines functionality with artistry.

Inspired by Buckminster Fuller's timeless architecture, its crystalline geometry demarcates and signifies the next chapter of urban renewal in the surrounding precinct. Built atop a live Western Power substation, the steel structure weaves its way up through a web of electrical cables like a parasitic urban organism.
